Services and Usage Information

The staff of the SHHS Library Learning Commons is here to serve the educational and informational needs of all Spring Hill High School students, faculty, staff and administrators. We hope to partner with you in providing for your instructional goals and in providing a safe and inviting learning environment for our students.

Our plans for success include the following services and guidelines.

STUDENTS:
Library Use

Students are encouraged to visit the library as often as they need to before and after school and during school hours. During class time, visits should only be for the purpose of printing, returning/renewing/checking out library books, chromebook repairs, and reasearch help. Each student visiting independently should have one of the pink library passes signed by the classroom teacher.  Prior arrangements should be made with the library staff prior to any other type of student visit.

Students may log into Destiny Discover (through Classlink) and place a hold in advance. Students should check their D5 Gmail inbox, as an email will be sent when any holds are ready for pickup.

Circulation
Students may checkout up to 3 print books and 2 digital books. The loan period is 21 days and can be renewed once by visiting the library or by emailing Mrs. Adams. Books more than 30+ days overdue are subject to being marked lost, resulting in a replacement fee.

Technology Use
There are two computers available to students for printing purposes. Additionally, there are two computers setup exclusively as library-catalog search stations. Students completing other computing tasks should do so on their district-provided Chromebooks. All computer use should be done in accordance with the District Acceptable Use Agreement.

Chromebook Repairs
Staff is available to assist students with Chromebook issues (damage, malfunctioning parts or software). Loaner Chromebooks are provided ONLY in the event that troubleshooting does not resolve the issue and technology repair ticket is needed.
